Adventure is Out There. So Are You.

From the salt marshes and cheniers of Calcasieu Parish to the crawfish-rich prairies of Acadiana, to the great river bluffs of Baton Rouge and the banks of the Bogue Chitto, the South Louisiana Council spans one of the most extraordinary landscapes in America. Four communities, each with their own accent and rhythm — but bound by the same Cajun-country grit, the same love of the land, and the same belief that young people are capable of more than they’ve been asked to try.

This is Scouting country. Where a Cub Scout in Lake Charles gets their first look at a coastal night sky, a Scout in Baton Rouge learns leadership and service in the heart of Louisiana’s capital city, a Venturing Crew in Lafayette paddles the Vermilion River on a weekend they’ll talk about for years, and a Sea Scout out of Mandeville learns to read the currents of Lake Pontchartrain like a language. The terrain changes. The character being built doesn’t. Across every parish we serve, the South Louisiana Council is where young people discover who they are — and who they’re becoming.
