Refund Policy

The South Louisiana Council will process refunds for fees paid for ACTIVITIES & TRAININGS under the following conditions:

  1. Requests must be made in writing to the Council Service Center via mail or email.
  2. All emails must be sent to Scout Executive at info@scoutingsouthlouisiana.org.
  3. The date refund requests are made is the date utilized to determine refund eligibility.
  4. All refunds will be processed 30 days after the event.

Requests for refund made:

  • 14-30 days before event = 100% Refund        
  • 7-13 days before event = 50% Refund            
  • 6 days or less before event = No Refund   

Reasons for requesting a refund:

  1. Serious illness or injury preventing attendance
  2. Death in family preventing attendance
  3. The event or activity is cancelled or rescheduled
  4. Family emergency

Notes:

  • Refunds for fees of $10 or less will not be issued.
  • Refunds are not given for no shows or for bad weather that does not warrant event cancellation.

The South Louisiana Council will process refunds for Scout Shop merchandise within 30 days of purchase if:

  1. Item(s) still have the tags
  2. Item(s) are in new condition – free of marks or odors
  3. Refunds for fees of $10 or less will not be issued.

The South Louisiana Council will issue refunds—less any costs incurred for expenses, materials, food, and/or credit card convenience fees—for Council High Adventure Activities, Order of the Arrow events, and Camp Properties under the following conditions:

  • For Council High Adventure Contingents, National Jamborees, and similar events, refunds may be if a paid participant has replaced the Scout that has cancelled. Additionally, the refund will be reduced by costs incurred because of the change, including but not limited to airfare, activity fees, and transportation, and must be approved by the Scout Executive.
  • Refunds for Order of the Arrow events are subject to all conditions listed above and require approval from the Lodge Staff Advisor.
  • Refunds for camp property usage are subject to all conditions listed above and must be approved by the Scout Executive.
